The ‘Successful Spouse Selection and Pre-Marriage’ course held by Noor Trust took place over this past weekend, over both Saturday and Sunday. We’re glad to say it was a great success. Over thirty-five people attended the course, filling up the hall, and the feedback we received from them afterwards was very positive. The course was aimed at single people who were looking to get married and involved presentations and interactive sessions focusing on the various issues they might face. This included investigations into personalities and knowing oneself, what to look for, and expect from, a spouse, how to go about conducting meetings with potential spouses and issues of Islamic fiqh related to the process. It was facilitated by qualified psychologist who are experts in the field, and we were graced with the presence of Ayatollah Sayyid Fadhil Milani who gave a talk on the subject of marriage and spouse selection and answered crucial questions asked by the participants.
We would like to thank the brothers and sisters who took part and who made this course a success. We’d like to thank the facilitators – Dr Sarfaz Jeraj, brother Abbas Merali, sister Shaheen Merali, sister Annie Shamsi, brother Ashiq Damani and Shaykh Mohammed al-Hilli – who worked tirelessly to ensure that the course was engaging, informative and enjoyable; feedback form the participants indicated that they were exceedingly knowledgeable and approachable. We’d also like to thank Sayyid Fadhil Milani for giving his time and providing religious guidance, and most of all we’d like to thank all those who participated and made the course a success, alhamdulillah. Inshallah our next marriage event will be the ‘Successful Marriage Course’ for couples which will take place this summer and we hope it will be as successful as this one has been.
